1. Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition (BOT-2)
Date Published: 2005
Format: Text
Annotation: The BOTMP (Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency) and BOT-2 (Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, Second Edition) are widely used standardized measures of motor proficiency. The BOTMP and BOT-2 use a subtest and composite structure that highlight motor performance in the broad functional areas of stability, mobility, strength, coordination, and object manipulation. The Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency is an assessment tool for both gross and fine motor skills. According to the test's authors, the test can be used as a motor screen, and can be used to help rule in medical diagnoses, evaluating motor training protocols, and assisting clinicians. The test is an evaluative screen that provides a variety of game-oriented tasks that are measurable and can be standardized. This resource was identified by the NIH Disaster Research Response Program (DR2) for researchers looking for pre- and post-disaster data collection instruments.

Ease of Use in Disaster Setting: Moderate
Population: All/Anyone
Length: Full version (2005 revised BOTMP): 53 questions
BOTMP 1978 original version: 46 questions
BOTMP-SF (short form): 14 questions
Time to Complete: 15 to 20 minutes for short form
45 to 60 minutes for full version (long form)
